The Problem
The human in the loop is the weak link
A mobile number stopped being just a way to reach someone a long time ago. It is now the thing that proves who they are. Regulators, banks and government services have all built identity services on the same assumption: whoever holds a number is the person it belongs to.
SIM swap fraud and port-out fraud on networks rely on that assumption. Once an attacker moves a number under their control, every service that trusts that number is compromised. By the time the victim notices, their accounts are already gone, and the damage is done. Current responses are all downstream of the problem, and social engineering attacks are growing more sophisticated than mobile operators can reasonably handle. We need a new way to verify that a SIM swap is genuine.
The Solution

In CaveroCore™, identity is not a set of answers you can research or buy. It is a continuity of state that only the genuine subscriber's devices can demonstrate. When a swap or port-out is requested, the operator requests proof of that continuity before authorising it - both from the subscriber's SIM and from the network of trusted devices. If an attacker has stolen a phone number and some information, they cannot produce that continuity of state, and the request fails before the attacker can do any harm.

Legitimate replacement still works. A subscriber who loses a handset or upgrades a device is re-established through the same trusted network, which means the honest case is handled without the friction of a fraud investigation and without falling back on the knowledge-based questions that caused the problem in the first place. CaveroCore™ has been designed to be so lightweight that it can be run on a SIM's memory and can even be deployed to SIMs already in the field via OTA updates - meaning no friction or complexity for end users.
